Editing S03 – Wistram Days (Pt.2)

Ceria crafts an [Ice Shard] during her lesson in Magical Foundations with Rievan Forstrom, a human mage, but he admonishes it's construction and has her start again. Pisces tells her that he thinks the spell was fine but Rievan just doesn't like Ceria which she suspects to be true due to his likely Terandrian origins.

After Rievan dismisses them they are scheduled to have their illusion class next, but as they had yet to figure out the location for it the two return to their rooms by navigating the labyrinth of corridors that make up Wistram. On the way they talk about Half-elf discrimination on Terandria before napping before lunch.

They join Calvaron and Beatrice for lunch and eventually Calvaron tells them about how Wistram uses secrets as currency. Ceria manages to convince Calvaron to give them a useful secret which he does; the spellbooks they were given will only ever be Tier 2 at best and that they can find better ones elsewhere. Ceria still complains about the secret before Calvaron begins to tell the table of her small bounty in some Terandrian cities before she stalks away from the table. Pisces chases after her and manages to convince her to join him at a party that Calvaron told him about for free beer.

A week later Ceria finally gets comfortable with Wistram and is leading Pisces as they hurry to their next class after a fellow student, Cessic a Lizardman, hints that they should get there. They arrive to find a group of students, both new and old, outside a classroom waiting for the Destruction Magic class. Illphres arrives and announces that she doesn't want to teach but is being forced to by the council, so instead she casts [Ice Wall] and declares that anyone that she will teach anyone that can melt the ice. Before leaving Ceria shouts at Illphres that they need help not an impossible task, but Illphres responds by saying that real Mages don't need help - and then she proceeds to wall off the hallway as she walks away.

Stuck, Ceria and Pisces goes over to talk to some of the third-year mages and one eventually offers to trade his silver bell for the location of the illusion class, to which he declines. They then overhear some other students talking about a tier 4 spellbook and Ceria notices a small shadow thinking that it was a rat. Cognita arrives and breaks through the walls freeing the students.

Once they return to their rooms Ceria vents her anger by shouting and unleashing stone darts trashing her room. Pisces overhears and invites her to talk in his room about what he managed to overhear about the spellbook. Pisces had overheard where the book was, but it was warded with lethal spells, however he has a plan but is hesitant to carry it out until Ceria agress that they need the book to pass the exam. Ceria glimpses another rat in Pisces' room but Pisces assures her that he's taken care of it - they choose to head to dinner so that they can plan, but not before Pisces pockets the now-animated mouse.
