Chapter 1.12 is the 14th chapter of Volume 1. It loosely corresponds with chapter 1.13 (archived) and Chapter 1.14 (Archived) in the pre-rewrite version of volume 1. == tl;dr== Erin gets ripped off by Lism. Relc jokes about Erin but tries to make up for it by killing two Goblins who attacked her. Erin levels that night. ==Synopsis== Erin, unable to read Drake signs, is thrown out of several shops and even homes she barges into, until she eventually finds the market. There, she avoids purchasing from a female Gnoll shopkeeper fearing that, after her previous encounters with Gnolls, she might refuse to sell her goods due to her smell. Instead, Erin goes to a Drake shopkeeper named Lism, who demands all her gold coins in exchange for a small amount of food. Overwhelmed by Lism's insistence, Erin reluctantly accepts the deal. After leaving the marketplace and collecting her thoughts, Erin realizes she has been scammed. She decides to go to the guard barracks to find Klbkch or Relc hopping that they could help her resolve the situation. When she arrives at the barracks, she hears Relc making several insulting remarks about humans. Erin leaves the city infuriated by what Ralc said and he follows her trying to apologize. As Relc chases after her to make amends, he scares off a group of goblins and helps Erin by carrying her groceries back to the inn. On the way, he listens to her story about being ripped off by Lism and offers his counsel and help. Erin is still mad at him but their relationship is slightly repaired. The perspective then shifts to a young goblin, who is instructed by her chieftain to find their parents, as she was the last person seen with them. The goblin stumbles upon Relc callously killing her parents, seemingly with the intention of presenting them as a gift to Erin. The goblin reports this to her chieftain, who arms himself and demands to know the location of 'the human'. ==Characters== ( * = First Appearance) *Erin Solstice *Gnoll shopkeeper* *Lism* *Relc *Klbkch = Mentioned *Tkrn = Mentioned *Goblins **Small Goblin **Goblin Chieftain ==Locations== *Liscor *Erin's inn ==Statistics Obtained== ===Erin Solstice=== *Classes/Levels = [Innkeeper] Lv. 6 (+1) ===Relc=== *Skills = [Iron Scales] ==Quotes== *(Gnoll shopkeeper to Erin) “You, Human! You should be grateful the Guard doesn’t run you out of the city! First that damn [Necromancer] comes here, and now this smelly one that can’t even read.”
